"How Firm a Foundation" Conference
V. Michael McKay and Yolanda Adams have partnered again to present this epic event for fellow composers, musicians, and constituents. Hymns in the Black Church are vital to the church because they speak truths relative to the Word of God. Hymns and the Black Church are parallel to love and marriage. You can’t have one without the other.
Hymns are worthy of premier attention for the sake of keeping them alive in the hearts and minds of the people of God. They should ever be on our lips and in our mouths. Hymns belong to the congregation.
The foundation of African American church music is contextually built on hymns. They are expressions of our faith in God, our reverence to God,
and our acknowledgment of His deity.
We will gather at How Firm a Foundation Conference to strengthen our spiritual foundation through the study and examination of hymns of African American composers.
We welcome you to the Think Tank!
